Celebrate in
historic style
Step into the City Tavern and host your next event where America's history was forged by such luminaries as Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, and John Adams.
Built in 1796, the City Tavern is one of the oldest buildings and last remaining Federal-period taverns in Washington, D.C. Rescued from demolition in 1959 and meticulously restored, this architectural treasure is on the National Register of Historic Places and served as the home to the exclusive City Tavern Club until August 2024.
Today’s City Tavern is now a refreshed and re-imagined 13,000-square-foot venue in the heart of Georgetown.
Under new ownership dedicated to preserving its heritage, City Tavern is poised to begin its next remarkable chapter in history as once again host to Georgetown’s most important and elegant events.
